Palmerston and Peel highlight new parliamentary reality in Britain

The piece extols Lord Palmerston's and Sir Robert Peel's Wednesday speeches as concise, forceful, and tactically masterful. It notes Palmerston linking reform, free trade, and public opinion with calm philosophy, while Peel counters with a pragmatic defense of government, admission of past errors, and hints of future concessions. The analysis argues public sentiment now drives legislation more than votes, shaping party leadership and policy direction.
