Attempted Assassination of Louis Philippe Recounted

A Paris telegram details two separate gunfire incidents aimed at King Louis Philippe at the Tuileries. The first shooter was captured, the king unharmed, and the assailant claimed no political motive. A later report confirms another attempt during the same celebratory balcony scene, with the assassin identified as Joseph Henri, an ironmonger. The king departed for Neuilly as cabinet discussions followed. Also covered are rioting in a Derbyshire coal village led by Mrs Corner, Windsor Park robbery attempts by Grenadier Guards, and a fatal accident aboard a Clyde Shipping vessel.
