Money Market Report Sees Consols Rise and Bank Discount Cut

The English funds edged higher with Consols at 91 as a slight reaction followed a Bank notice lowering the discount rate from 6 to 4 per cent. Dealers note anticipated moves and some old stock purchases. Foreign markets show little change and Spanish prices hold firm, despite reports of Madrid declines. Overall share activity looks solid with no new bank changes.
