Fatal Stoker Fall Delays Great Western Train near Cirencester
A Great Western train from Swindon to Paddington halted when a stokers fall from a platform stage proved fatal, his body mutilated by wheels. The conductor alone managed the scene. The accident occurred ten miles from Cirencester. the driver and engineer were not blamed as the train slowed with calm efficiency. The deceased left a wife and three children.
