Power failures hit east village area again
For the second time in as many days the east end of the village lost power for about two hours. Monday’s outage began after sunset and lasted until roughly 9 pm. Tuesday’s failure struck the same area and briefly affected the entire community, jeopardizing a Chamber of Commerce reception.

Gas discovery reported near Trident well west of Chetwynd
Reports of a gas find near the Trident well about twenty miles west of Chetwynd on the Pine River side. Earlier attempts in the area failed. Local word says the gas strata may be sealed off temporarily while deeper drilling proceeds to gather more data.
