Golf site eyed near village with voters meeting called

Dedicated golfers propose a 160 acre site on Jackfish Lake road four miles northeast for an 18 hole course. A public meeting at Community Hall tomorrow night at 9 00 p m seeks funds and member support for acquisition and operation. Meanwhile Marwell Construction hires Mr Gottmesman to clear a site for Willow Flats pumping station with 200 workers expected, using local equipment where possible and labor through union locals.

Ferry Instead Of Road Grips Chetwynd Hudson Hope Link

The ferry is to operate this weekend while the Chetwynd Hudson Hope road remains washout damaged in several spots north of Moberly Lake. For years officials and the Premier pledged a heavy duty route to serve Peace Power Projects, but today the highway segment is officially under the department after being built and maintained by Fort St. John Lumber. The road status and future plans are unclear as page six continues.
