New Dawson Creek Road and Peace Bridge Planned by Gaglardi

In a Dawson Creek interview Minister P Gaglardi announces a seven million bridge and a four million road to connect Dawson Creek with the Portage Mountain project. The suspended concrete bridge will be a single span with rock banks and no river piers. Construction starts first week in July, finishing early next year, with paving planned soon.

Dog Attacks Child Near Pine Valley Lodge

Four dogs attacked 3 1/2 year old Dean Friesen at Pine Valley Lodge, inflicting severe scalp and facial lacerations before rescue. The dog was destroyed and head sent to Dawson Creek for rabies tests. Livestock and dogs have troubled the area between Chetwynd and Willow Flats for months, prompting farmers to shoot stray animals.
