Chetwynd Hotel Annex Work Begins Prompts Tourist Boost
Excavation starts on the east side of the Chetwynd Hotel with extensions to the cafe kitchen beverage rooms and lounge enlargement plus lobby and office alterations. Dyke Construction of Dawson Creek leads the project amid rising tourist demand and weaker Canadian dollar driving more travelers to Canada and Alaska. A violent storm dumped heavy rain and hail with tornado like motions affecting the region and delaying paving and road work but reducing fires in the district.
