Road Conditions Update From the North District
Rain and warm weather have caused rapid runoff leaving roads muddy and heavy. Prince George to Dawson Creek shows good pavement but rough gravel and water over the road near Dawson Creek on Tuesday. Hudson Hope Fort St John routes in very poor condition with water and deep mud holes. District roads drying but still heavy with mud. TWIDWELL BEND BRIDGE not yet open for traffic. Rumors say contractors ready to work but no confirmation. Peace River ice moved from the area but held at Fort St John and Hudson Hope. Ferry at Hope expected to run shortly after ice clears. The Chetwynd Hotel lounge now officially titled The Whistle Stop. locals note Jerkwater Town origins. Decorations pending. lanterns overalls caps awaited.
