Soldiers of the 188th and 219th Battalions See Action in Europe
Born in 1917, a son of Mr and Mrs M J Fouhse af Beauchamp joined the 188th Battalion in Winnipeg and reached England in 1916, later serving in France. Alfred Voz, son of Jos Voz, joined the 188th in Winnipeg and is in France. Leo Pion has relatives there and joined the 219th. Ed Turgeon and Henry Villeneuve joined the 214th and were in England awaiting deployment to France. Mr M H Fouhse plans to beifers from Winnipeg.

British troops stormed the Hindenburg line from the Scarpe River to St Quentin, advancing about 6 percent miles and reaching within 8 miles of Cambrai. They routed German positions, took over 9000 prisoners, and recaptured German cannons. Lloyd George reported six submarines destroyed last Saturday with a larger tally this week, while the Italians seized 1200 Austrians who crossed the Piave.
