The Rtral Municipality of Spalding No 368 met on Saturday April 4 at Watson. Present Reeve Hutchison and councilors Morton Frederick Gourley Scott Lunsford Parker. Minutes approved. Council to request Highway Board surveys and guarantee compensation for right of way. Authorized H Lunsford to move the grader. Reeve and secretary treasurer authorized to borrow up to 6000 for school advances. Petition for a bridge north of 21-87-17 and to build earth grades and maintain bridge floor. Granted $10 to Green Lawn School District for a foot bridge over Iron Spring Creek. Meeting adjourned to first Saturday in May at 1 p.m. Signed W T Smart Secretary Treasurer.

Miss Cora Dell Downing formerly of Forest Ontario taught at the Village school for three years before her death. She was active in the Methodist Church and prominent in church work. The community extends heartfelt sympathy to her sorrowing relatives as the school closes and the flag flies at half mast.

Reverend Coveney led Divine Service at Westasta Valley schoolhouse on Sunday. The April meeting of Westasta Valley district reported 22 teaching days in March with an average attendance of 17.22 and 1 percent attendance. An evening German class meets Mondays and Fridays at the schoolhouse. On March 1 Mr. and Mrs. Mann hosted a lively All Fools Day party with guests including Mrs Satchel and Mrs Presley visiting from Prince Albert.
