Watrous Plans Union Sports Day and School Fair
At a Watrous teachers meeting a Union Sports Day and School Fair was set for Sept. 20 with eight to ten mile participation radius. Events include forenoon sports exhibits afternoon, and an evening theatre concert with storytelling singing and elocution contests. The Bank of Commerce will loan pupils funds to buy two pigs with repayment from later pig sales plus 7 percent, and a hog exhibit and prizes are planned for November with a hog-raising contest open to boys aged 12 to 18.

Junior Red Cross Society Holds Inaugural Meeting
At Watrous Public School on April 23 the Junior Red Cross Society formed with Hon. Prew Miss Johnston as chair and Edwayna Fish leigh as chairman. Officers include Marjory Nay lor vice chair Myrtie Meilicke treasurer Evelyn Evenson secretary and Annie Thomas Maybelle Hoover Margaret Bentley as executive. The group meets Fridays 4 to 5 pm and on April 26 held its first well attended meeting sewing 31 towels hemmed and two face towels.
