The Watrous Agricultural Society hosted the seventh annual exhibit Friday despite rain and cold winds. Attendance fell as weather worsened with many events canceled, but prize winners were listed for horses, cattle, sheep, poultry, grains, and produce, highlighting top entries such as Davidson and Wheatley in multiple divisions.
The document lists numerous home produced goods and entries from a show or fair. Categories include bread fruit pies and preserves, baked goods, children’s department with crochet and sewing, ladies work including embroidery and knitting, arts and crafts like painting and wood work, and farm products such as butter and vegetables. Named participants include Mrs Hoover, Mre Mietti, Mrs Burke, Mrs McGrath, Mrs Tingey, Elda Armstrong, Violet Blarmeatrong, and many others. Entries note items won or showcased such as best apple pie, best lemon pie, and various dairy and garden products.
Mrs Chas Treble traveled to Sasketoon to attend Juvenile Grain committee meetings and cites substantial progress. James Northgraves arrives on harvest duty as coal unloading runs. A garden party under UK Women Grain Growers auspices was disrupted by an electrical storm yet twenty guests attended and boosted the treasury. The August GGA meeting suffered light turnout due to coal hauling. a bare quorum set plans for the following Monday and an address from a Winnipeg leader.
