London reports a disastrous first national baby show at Crystal Palace with 25 000 entries against 10 000 expected. Judges scarce due to no-shows, chaos as mothers and babies crowd the halls, police restore order and prize announcements are postponed.
Mr R J Carroll of Brisbane is expected to be appointed secretary of the Queensland Central Executive. He has 16 years in the Queensland Government and 15 years on the inner executive of the party. A QGE meeting is planned for Thursday to decide the appointment. If selected his present organizer role may not be filled immediately. No successor to Carroll has yet been discussed by QCE officials.
Henry Alfred Hullett a 21 year old married man of Howard was killed by the Rockhampton Brisbane mail train near Howard last night. His body was found mutilated with a portion of his lambs about 100 yards from the scene. Train brakes stopped the engine about 600 yards from the Isis Junction side. Police and train-men, called to the scene, reported the grisly discovery and a mystery remained how Hullett came to be on the line after retiring to bed earlier.
Martial law was proclaimed in SHANGEAT following the murder of a Japanese policeman named Yoshioka by an unknown assailant. The killer fired point blank and escaped in a lorry, with authorities tightening control in Hah ktow and nearby Chinese concessions under foreign marshal rule.
Three men were injured when a cane locomotive fell through a tramway bridge into a tidal creek feeding the Macoochy River near Yandina. The engine rested on its side in four feet of water after striking the creek bottom. Fireman Edgar Plater, 19, suffered pelvic and internal injuries. driver Elley Perren and Les Plater escaped with lighter injuries. Ambulance took Edgar Plater to hospital.
A fog bound ground collision at Liverpool airfield kills Campbell Black, famed Melbourne 1934 Flight winner, after a demonstration flight in a Percival Mew Gull. Hawker Hart crashes as both aircraft collide. Black dies from multiple injuries. The incident shocks 600 spectators and halts events for Johannesburg preparations.

In Kalgoorlie on Sunday an elderly man, Charles Edward McLean, 81, was fatally shot in President Street by a heavy service revolver during a disturbance. A former sailor, Sydney Gilbert Green, 41, was found dead on the back verandah with a temple wound and a revolver beside him. McLean died in hospital next morning.

About 186 stock owners gathered in Urbenville on Saturday urging the Department of Agriculture to postpone its dip eradication campaign due to poor stock condition.
