Melbourne police report two railway workers, William G Bruhn and Henry J Milner, sentenced to 18 months hard labour for stealing motor tyres and tubes from a train on March 26. Bruhn, engine driver from Geelong to Ballarat, allegedly halted the engine at Navigator crossing to enable Milner to fetch a car and procure the tyres. The scheme was exposed when the recipient’s wife quarreled with her husband, revealing the plan.
