A minister of religion, Bilder Jack Anterar of Toowoomba, sustained a gash to the head and shock when a car overturned on Gap Road near Gunalda on Thursday night. The driver, Her bert Thomas, also of Toowoomba, a car salesman, escaped with shock. Both were detained overnight at Gympie General Hospital while en route to Bundaberg.
A 14 year old Booval boy named Don Newlands was rushed to Brisbane General Hospital after a diving accident at Bundamba Creek. He struck his head and suffered a serious wound with amnesia and potential spinal injury. Police and ambulance attended around 3 am before transfer for treatment.

Brisbane reports the death of Mr. Chris Dahl aged 75, Brisbane's oldest journalist. He retired sixteen months ago after sixty years in the trade, suffered a heart attack the day before, began as an apprentice printer in 1891, spent 25 years at the Brisbane Courier as chief sub editor, and for his last 18 years was country sub editor for the Courier-Mail.
