Hiram Pierce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ulysses Pierce, of Water street, Randolph, who has been employed during the last year at the Bath Iron Works Corp.. was guest of honor Thursday evening at a surprise farewell party given by friends at the home of his parents. He left Friday morning for Fort Devens, Mass. He was presented with a gold signet ring as a farewell gift from the group. Dancing and games were enjoyed and refreshments were served. Mr Pierce was graduated in 1939 from Gardiner high school.
