Shipping notices show the Kadina and Wallaroo Railway and Pier Co arranging passenger conveyances to Port Adelaide with sailings from Wallaroo Kadina Moonta. The event advertises a list of amusements at Wallaroo including races, wrestling, and dancing, plus social gatherings at Moonta and Wallaroo during Christmas holidays in 1866 and New Year celebrations with tickets and prizes for various contests.
The Surveyor-General offers tenders by noon on the sixth for wells between Tame ns and twenty five yards SE from Waller’s Iron Tanks. Wells six feet diameter with 18 inch dry at one wall, mortar lining, and through rock or sand sections. Tenders must name price per foot for earth sand and rock work, with compliance details and references to site specifics. Submit via the Office at Streaky Bay. approval rests with Surveyor-General Goyder.

A Grand Festival at Moonta Mines on the first of January features two tents and three bands forming a procession from the Ground Bears Band Room to the Township and the Tea venue. Tickets sold through local members. Teas for children and adults scheduled with separate times. An evening public meeting at the Wesleyan Chapel will be chaired by Josie Jolly with local ministers addressing the gathering. Tickets: adults 1s 6d. children 6d. a 40d collection planned to defray festival expenses.
Outstanding accounts due to the trustees of Clinch and Co Moonta must be paid immediately to Gallan on the premises George Street Moonta. Failure to do so will result in proceedings to recover the amount with our further notice.
