Moose and Caribou Licenses Open In 1942 Season

A limited number of licenses to take Moose and Caribou from specified areas will be issued by the Department of Natural Resources for November 1 to December 21, 1942. Circulars with terms and conditions are available on request. K. J. Carter, Secretary for Natural Resources. A delivery of firewood arrived at Ashbourne's Ltd on Saturday brought by Capt. James Gillett and crew. Everett O. Whiteway, former local teacher and son of Dr. C. L. Whiteway of Musgrave Harbour, wed Miss Mabel Hampton at Bishop's Falls on August 12.

Notice on Potato Regulations for Sale From September 1 1942

Public notice states that from September 1 1942 under Regulation 7 of the Fishery and Agricultural Produce Grading and Marking Potato Regulations 1940 no person may sell potatoes inferior to No 1. Copies of the regulations are available from the Department of Natural Resources.

Potatoes must carry weight tag under 1942 regulation

Under Act 28 of 1940, Regulation 5 is repealed and replaced to require that whenever Grade Potatoes are sold the nett weight in each container be stated on a tag. The rule excludes direct-to-consumer sales under 90 pounds. Regulation 6 adds or other containers to existing wording.
