The family expresses thanks to all who helped during illness and death, those who sent messages, letters, and cards of sympathy, and those who sent wreaths and sprays for the casket. They especially thank Dr Wood and Dr Olds for their care. Mrs Joan Guy and family.
Prevailing wet weather delayed fish drying and field labor as crops were harvested between rains. Potatoes yielded well though other vegetables suffered from late spring winds. The fishery was fair in some areas, with grounds well fished but steered by stormy weather since September. Salmon nets produced a small local catch since mid October. bull birds and Turra were fairly plentiful.
A notation indicates distribution of a booklet on elementary food preservation. An individual applied to the Supplies Division of the Department of Public Works in St. John's for a copy.
