Meeting Notice for N F D Lumbermen’s Association

A notice states a meeting of the N. F. & D. Lumbermen's Association will be held Monday night May 29. Secretary District Agriculturist LeGrow spent the week aboard Honeymoon II. Laurie Roberts departed Thursday to join S S Fort Amherst at St John’s as Quartermaster and aims to become mate on another Furness Withy vessel back to Halifax.

Confederation Life Wood Cutting Crew to Roberts Arm

Confederation Life reports workers migrating to Roberts Arm for wood cutting and shipping duties with about 500 men expected to be employed. Rev W H Gill and Mrs Gill visited town from Exploite on Thursday. Mrs Hamsh Vatcher and Mrs Elizabeth Young arrived by the Clyde from St John’s. Motor boat C M Wheeler carried passengers to Lewisporte on Tuesday. Hayter and Young, traveling salesmen, were in town last week. Hayter spoke for Purity Factories Ltd and Young for T and M Winter.

Passengers Arrive by Motor Boats from Brighton and Lewisporte

Miss Brighton carries Mrs Pearce Bridger Cynthia Bridger Mrs Dexter Bridger and Miss Hileen Vincent from Brighton Tuesday. Motor Little Grace ferries Lone Flyer's crew to Lewisporte Saturday en route to St John s. J Edwin Facey also goes to the City. Andrew Maidment and son bring freight to H J Pardy from Lewisporte Wednesday.

Mining engineer to survey island mine end of June

The Mining Engineer will arrive at Chappel's Island near the end of June to survey the mine begun two years ago. Mr. Robert Boyd reports that the island camp was broken into with window damage. A five dollar reward is offered for information leading to the guilty parties.

The schedule lists Holy Communion at St. Peter's 8 a.m. and Matins 11 a.m. with 3 p.m. Children's Service and 7 p.m. Evensong. St. Andrew's offers Matins at 11 a.m. and Thensong at 7 p.m. Little Harbour hosts 3 p.m. Rev. T. J. Pitt. North Side features Layman 1 a.m. and Sunday School 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Rev. T. J. Vitt. Twillingate Masonic Lodge members will attend the North Side night service. pews in the center are reserved for them.

Miss Marjorie Wood, a Bachelor of Science graduate from Dalhousie, visited on Tuesday. Mrs Constable Harvey of Fogo was brought through on Wednesday en route to the Mental Hospital in St John’s.
