Mr C Viguers of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Reconstruction arrived by Clyde on Monday to inspect local peat deposits for fuel and composts. He previously surveyed the area and found several development candidates. He urges focusing on peat as coal prices rise and firewood becomes scarce, noting nationwide peat expansion and inviting the Peat Society and interested parties to a Court House meeting Monday evening.
Clyde arrived here Monday morning with inbound traffic to Lewisporte. Regular Bay Schedule to start around May 28 with three trains weekly. The steamer may arrive tonight.

Funeral at S S United Church on Wednesday, Rev. T. J. Pitt officiating. On Thursday morning Mrs. Jansen Troake died suddenly. Also Phoebe Harbin died Thursday night at 11:30. More details next week.
Mr. Clarde Colbourne returned from St Johns this week with a new motor car named Schr Shirley Reed. Mise Annie Clarke arrived from Norrie Arm on Friday week. Mr. H. Harnett came by Clyde and left by Little Grace on Tuesday to catch the steamer Exploits. Rev J Goodland visited Moreton's Hr on Sunday. Messrs Augustus Honse and Berry Freser arrived by boat on Tuesday.
A Sock Social hosted by St. Peter's Sanctuary Guild drew many ages to the Parish Hall on a Tuesday night. Invitations included a四shoe sized admission sock with money four times the shoe size. Activities featured foxtrot, dancing, games, singing, with ice cream for sale. Winners included Wilson Manonel and Mrs Manuel for elimination foxtrot, Donald Templeman for the animal contest, and Mrs A H Hodge for the flower contest. Proceeds reached 4088.
