Tenders Invited for Deep Sea Fishing Gear and Machinery
Two complete sets of unused deep sea fishing gear and machinery are being offered. Items were purchased in 1941 from the Great Grimsby Coal and Salt Tanning Co Ltd Grimsby England. Prospective buyers may obtain item lists from the Supplies Division and arrange inspections by contacting the Assistant Secretary for Natural Resources. Tenders must be marked Tender for Fishing Gear and sent to Supplies Division St John’s by noon May 9.

The April 21 1942 Newfoundland Gazette publishes a regulation under the Lobster Fishery and Packing rules allowing the Fisheries Board to ban lobster taking or gear setting in territorial waters by order. Forest Fires Act permits required for land clearing burns

Aged Fogo Resident Dies. Son Josiah Oake Noted
An aged citizen of Fogo named Ham Oake died there on Sunday. He was 9134 years old. His son, Josiah Oake, serves as bookkeeper with the Newfoundland Laboratory Export Company.
