Mr. Wm. Young received a cable Thursday announcing the death of his daughter Millie Sharpe. Mrs. Bert Sharpe, formerly of Conception Bay, Newfoundland, passed away in Toronto at age 35. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 2 30 PM.
Telegram report states Bennett Burton of Twillingate wed Elia Parsons of Bonne Bay on February 12 at the Wesley Parsonage with Rev. J G Joyce officiating.
Local papers join in extending congratulations to the Daily News on reaching its 30th birthday on February 1. Edited since inception by J A Robinson and one mark, three original staffers W H Cullen John O Toole and E Hutchings remain on the job. The note wishes continued success.
A daughter was born February 26 in Three Rivers Montreal to Mr and Mrs W S Munir. The brief notice records a new arrival in the Munir family.
Creditors of St John’s General Hospital are warned that sums owed for treatment or radiographs must be paid or arrangements made by February 15. If not, legal proceedings will be started to enforce payment by order of MW. WH. Rennie, Secretary, Board of Governors. General Hospital.
To The Ladies of Twillingate there will be a sewing class held at the ND Memorial Hospital on the last Tuesday of every month unless otherwise arranged. Those wishing to help should attend the first meeting March 30th at 2:30 p.m. Arthur Manuel, Sec. ND M Hospital Inc.
Sir Robert Bond celebrated his sixty ninth birthday last month and was born on February 25 1857. He remains in fairly good health, and friends in the district extend wishes for many more years of good health and happiness.
