Regulations issued under the Department of Natural Resources Acts 1934 44 establish rules for export packaging of salted fish. The amendments were approved by His Excellency the Governor in Commission on February 11, 1949.
A 1946 amendment to the Export Packages Salted Fish Regulations revises packaging requirements. It mandates wooden cross pieces strapped to each package head and bottom with specific dimensions and bevels to fit the lining hoops. If stock limits cross-piece size, smaller cross-pieces may be used under defined minimums.
The amended regulations strike out rule 22 requiring board permission for export in standard packages and insert new rule 25A authorizing the board to permit exports in nonstandard packages when expedient. The act is cited as Export Packages (Salted Fish) Regulations 1949, with principal regulations 1946 1949 No 2780.
