Sheep farming prospects in Newfoundland urged by essay
A discussion argues open-country grazing can support expanding sheep flocks in Newfoundland. It notes home wool work aids clothing, and lamb and mutton meet local needs. The piece suggests commercial potential from small cultivator flocks or large commercial herds, and stresses training sheep to forage on barrens and delaying lambing for better pasture use. It outlines breed differences, with Down-type sheep suited to cultivated land and other breeds for rough pasture.
