Mr John Roberta reports that good fishing trawling is being done around Change Isles. Several fishing schooners are away north, and one has arrived at Jodepandent Hr.

For Yur Garden. To check the growth of weed in your Garden use salt sea water. Take care not to let the water touch plants or stalke. This can be done by pouring along the drills, using just sufficient to moisten the earth. The water can be used more freely in dry spella and there by help to make vegetables and flowers grow. A few old-timers used to apply galt water to the soil and were known to have no weeds in their gardens.
Mary Roberts wife of the late Edwin Roberts died Tuesday at Wild Cove aged 72. She leaves two sons Walter and Frank, a daughter Marjorie Mrs W L Roberts of Windsor and sister Mrs Carrie Young of Brighton Mass. Funeral was held at St Peter's on Thursday with Rev J Goodland officiating.

Teachers who resided outside Twillingate complete ten months at the school and depart for home. Examinations begin Monday October 24. Authorities express hope that all candidates will find the papers manageable.
