A bill titled An Act further to amend the Education Act 1927 has been read a first and second time and published with objects and reasons. Persons may comment in writing to the Secretary for Education by June 30 1943. H A Winter Commissioner for Home Affairs and Education May 22 1943.

By the authority of the Emergency Powers Act the Governor in Commission issues an amendment to the Defence (Control of Use and Hire of Ships) Regulations 1943 dated May 26 1943. Secretary W J Carew notes the action.
The 1943 Defence Regulation 2 is repealed and replaced to require approval from the Commissioner before any ship hire or voyage. It sets that approvals may cover multiple agreements or voyages, may carry conditions, and require full particulars including freight rates and voyage duration. Penalties apply for violations or providing false information.
