Clyde Passes on Tuesday Morning at Seven
Twillingaters saw the old steamship Clyde at the harbour mouth as it passed in a familiar sight. The Clyde in tow of Lady McDonald under Capt Jim Gillett did not enter port heading for Williamsport to serve as a store ship for the whaling station. Some observers claim the Clyde turned to glance at the town that supplied most of her captains and crew during her fifty years of coastal service.
