Obituary for Twillingate Sailor Uncle Tom
The deceased, born at Snellin's Cove seventy seven years ago, spent early manhood in the Labrador fishery and later worked for Horwood Lumber Company in Horwood. He returned to Twillingate about twenty five years ago to fish shore and served as licensed caller for local firms. A kindly neighbor with goodwill as a life principle, he faced hardship cheerfully and helped others. His epitaph reflects a sailor and hunter’s homecoming, with verses from Robert Louis Stevenson.
