Scout Association Meeting Called For March Third

A A Club Plans March Meeting For Elections

All members are urged to meet in the Club Room Thursday night March 2 for a business election of officers and to plan the coming season. Those wishing to join may do so at this meeting, according to the chairman.

Firemen Join Ship Replacement at Placentia Bay

Arthur Elliott Mesbre and Pearce Wheeler, firemen of S S Clyde, depart this morning to crew a vessel replacing S S Home in Placentia Bay while the latter undergoes scraping in dry dock.

St Peter's Lent Services Schedule and Events

For the 1st Sunday in Lent St Peter's on the South Side offers Matins at 4:30 a.m. Evensong at 7 p.m. Layman service at 11 a.m. Sunday School and Bible Class at 2:30 p.m. Rev T J Pitt conducts services at Little Harbour North Side tram and NS Charest. Ten Sailors to Iceflelda Steamer from St John’s

A group of ten set to sail on the steamship Iceflelda from St John’s, Messia. Claude Hawking Edward Moody George Gillett and Stanley Anstey have berths with Capt. Wes Kean aboard the Imogene. Dr. Waddell also joins the Imogene.

Ice dangers on harbour shores warn crossings unsafe

Since Sunday the harbour ice has broken up to above Stirling's Point. Large sheets remain frozen. Early in the week new ice formed between pans and along the North Side to Wild Cove creating fall hazards for pedestrians and horses. Safe landing exists only above Stirling's Point and along the South Side above Ashbourne's premises inside Harbour Rock.
