Personal Mr. T G W Ashbourne left for St Johns this week on business. Rev F W Hollands was to Moreton's Harbour on Sunday. Miss Joyce Scammell, housekeeper and nurse at Memorial Hospital, left to Halifax to visit her mother for two months. Messrs Elias Young and EK W Roberts went to Lewisporte with her. Mrs Parsons went to Boston. Hedley Brett, Stanley French and Harry Osmond were in town for freight for Morton’s Harbour landed from the Prospero last trip. Rev J T Clarke was in town from Morton’s Harbour.
Mrs George Rideout, who broke her wrist two weeks ago after falling on ice, is doing well and recovering. The incident occurred during icy conditions, and she is receiving standard care as she mends. Her family reports improvements and hopeful prognosis.
Messrs. H. J. Earle and Norman Gray M. H. A.s have been added as governors of the Newfoundland Savings Bank, expanding the bank's board membership.
