In Newfoundland a clash appears developing between Nafel and the Newfoundland Government over the future of the Cod Exporters Association. Mise Lownie Gardner, daughter of the late Arthur Gardener, is visiting her cousin Mrs William Harnett on North Side.
Mr and Mrs Ambrose Payne left Thursday aboard the Gay Rambler for Toronto. Mrs Payne visited her mother Mrs Colbourne and other relatives. They will spend a short time at Corner Brook with her brother Gus before returning home to Toronto.
Mrs John Roberts of Chance Islands was in town during a brief visit. She met local residents and discussed community events, signaling a friendly exchange between the islander and mainland residents.

Mr and Mrs Harry Skinner and daughter Lucy depart today for Boston after a sojourn here as guests of Mr and Mrs Edwin Facey.
Mr Fred Manuel arrived Sunday from Glenwood where he was building a home for Mr Williams Temple former editor and proprietor of Twillisgate Sun. He departed again on Tuesday.

Annie Lambert arrived back in Botwood on Wednesday after a trip elsewhere, details of the journey not provided.
The Mise Taillingate and Notre Dame boats delayed a few days this week due to engine trouble. Neither incident was serious, and all passenger services are expected to be back on schedule by today at the latest.
