Fall Lobster Season Opens Cape Ray to Cape Norman
Public notice announces a two month fall lobster fishing season from Cape Ray to Cape Norman starting October 1. Regulations require live release of all lobsters under ten inches and pot lath spacing increased to one and three quarters inches. soft shells cannot be packed. Public notice notes general revisions to lobster rules with final decision pending. Claude Fraser secretary Department of Natural Resources July 26 1934.

Side School Picnics Draw Crowds On Fair Day
The South Side Sunday School Picnic and the North Side School Picnic were held on the same Thursday. The day was pleasant for the activities the children enjoy with motor rides to and from the grounds drawing much attention.

Dorothys Passenger Service to Northern Districts
John Taylor died on the Labrador last week and was brought to Moreton's Harbour by the Kyle. He had fished with Captain George Taylor aboard the Fisherette. The funeral was held Wednesday with Rev. Hollands conducting the burial by water. Dorothy is advertised for passenger service and excursion trips with reasonable rates and good accommodation, contact A. Colbourne or Mr. Frank Linfield.

Regulations on codfish cullers licensing
Proposed changes to the 1933 Act Relating to the Culling of Codfish in Newfoundland require licensure from either the Salt Cod Fish Exportation Board or the Department of Natural Resources. Licences valid for five years, licensees subject to possible cancellation, and a one dollar fee. Unlicensed culling or employing unlicensed workers incurs fines up to 5000 dollars. Violations of the culler's oath and conspiracies to violate obligations carry similar penalties. Appeals and penalties are specified, with proceeds to prosecute offenders.
