Export Regulations for Dried Squid Published

The governor in commission approved export sale regulations for dried squid under Act Nos. 11 and 37 on July 31, 1941. The full regulations will appear in the Newfotrodland Gazette dated August 8, 1941, announced by Claude Fraser.

Captains lead seawork at Path End for Monroe Export Co

Capt Alex Anstey aboard the Paragon brought Mr Seeley from a north to Path End on Tuesday to start operations at the fresh fish plant for the Monroe Export Co. Capt J Gillett departed Thursday evening with the last of the seal oil for Ashbourne Ltd.

Tragedy as Woman Douses Self with Kerosene Then Sets It

A shocking incident in Lark Hr described as one of the town's worst deeds occurred this morning when Mrs. Richard Sheppard Jr poured kerosene on herself and set it afire. She was found lifeless, wrapped in flames. Local authorities report an apparent suicide.

Newfoundland Hunting Licences 1941 Details and Rules

The Department of Natural Resources issues licences for hunting Moose or Caribou in several areas with two seasons September 1 to 30 and October 21 to November 30, Sundays excluded. Fees: Non resident 25, resident 5.00. One stag or bull per licence. Guides required for each party. Applications for Season A due August 31, Season B by October 20, licences may be limited. Reports due 30 days after expiry. Firearms banned on reserves, Sundays, and special prohibitions on traps, snares, dogs. Definitions for non-residents and defence permit requirements included.
