Creditors and claimants of the estate of Keziah Harbin widow of Twillingate Newfoundland must file written debts or claims with John D. Roberts administrator at Corner Brook by May 10, 1938. After that date assets will be distributed based on notices received. Dated Corner Brook April 6, 1938.
An old sales pitch promises a 400 page thrilling story book with over 200 pictures for 150 dollars in goods. Customers are told to send name and address to Moss Supply Co. at 41 May 7 Deer LAE and later receive the book. earnings are described as keeping 10 cents for expenses and returning 1.40 dollars.
A prison verse portrays a condemned murderer awaiting death with defiant calm. The speaker links fate to divine will, notes fear of the unknown, and imagines his peaceful departure toward reconciliation with humanity as he nears the end.
Produce ranges include ripe tomatoes celery iceberg lettuce cucumbers sun kissed oranges box apples bananas and grapefruit for Easter meals. Local markets advertise seasonal specials with familiar staples to fill baskets.
Mary Bamlyn widow of Daniel Bamlyn died at Crow Head on Sunday evening at 75. Funeral held Tuesday at North Side United Church with Mr. T.G W. Ashbourne officiating and burial at B.B.H. Cemetery. She lived with her brother Wm Sharpe since her husband’s death 13 years ago and leaves three sisters Mrs Uriah Hamlyn of here, Mrs Rowsell of Leading Tickles, and Mrs Jane Newman in New York, plus several relatives.
Mr Wmn G Nott formerly with Harvey and Co Ltd at Efleoram has taken over the business at that place. He has been in St John’s since the branch closed and has now resumed in his own house. His father Mr George B Nott has been a bookkeeper there since leaving Twillingate in 1916.
A Variety Concert by St Peter's Sanctuary Guild will be held in the Parish Hall on Easter Monday April 18. Doors open 7 30 p m with program at 8 p m Admission reserve seats 25c general 15c children 14 and under 10c Ice cream and home made candy will be on sale An enjoyable evening for all patrons Be on time for the opening item.
On Tuesday April 19 there will be a short Entertainment after the Tea. Tea with cold meat and salad cakes etc will be served at six o'clock. Ice cream and candy for sale. Admission forty cents. Doors open at five thirty.
The U C W A hosts a Tea and Sale in Frazer Hall on April 21. Doors open at 5 30 with tea served at six. Menu includes cold meat and salad. Tickets are 35 cents. Ice cream and grab bags also offered. Enjoy a pleasant evening.

St Andrew's offers 8:30 a.m. Holy Communion 11 a.m. Matins 7 p.m. evening service. Other locations include Little Harbour and North Side with Rev J A Burde and Layman services. Salvation Army schedule shows sunrise service, holy meetings, praise and salvation services.
Several teams from here and Tizzard's Hor. brought considerable freight to firma here or Tuesday and Wednesday. More freight is due here for sale today.
