Tenders for painting a portion of Notre Dame Memorial Hospital are invited. Interested parties should call at the Hospital Office on Saturday April 6 or Tuesday April 9 for full particulars. Tenders must be submitted by Thursday April 10 at noon. The lowest tender may not be accepted. E. J. Colbourne.
Alexandra Hall hosts a Brownies program featuring Red Riding Hood Three Bears Brownie Dance and War Drill plus a Butterfly Queen play on April 25. Admission 20 cents reserve seats and general 10 cents. Doors open at 7. Tea treats and candy for sale.
The Women of South Side Association hosts a Tea and Veristy Gate on May 1 inviting attendees for an enjoyable evening. Admission is 30 cents for tea. (Note: OCR text contains spelling anomalies likely meaning Tea and Society Gate or similar community event.)
The notice lists church services for St Peter's St Andrew's United Church and local ministers. St Peter's offers Holy Communion at 11, Matins 2:30, Sunday School 2:45, Bible Class 7, Evensong. St Andrew's has Holy Communion with Address at 11 and Evensong at 7. United Church on South Side holds Layman at 11, Sunday School and Bible Classes at 3, and Rev T J Pitt at 7 on Little Harbour and North Side 11 and 3 with Layman at 7. The message closes with a gospel exhortation to live in the name of Jesus.

At Bourden's Cove on Friday Week Kenneth Bourden died after months of illness ending with a paralytic stroke. He was 61. The funeral was Sunday led by Rev. T. J. Pitt. Mourners included Mrs. John Gillard and Mrs. Abe Brown with three adopted children among the attendees. Navy connections noted in the obituary.
