A mixed advertisement listing musical works by S Noa including The May Dew and Rory O More, and a long catalog for 1835 Almanacks. It promotes The British Penny Almanack The People s Book and other titles, with notices inviting orders via Cleave London and booksellers.
A public dinner for the Members for the borough of Birmingham, Thomas Attwood and Joshua Scholefield, drew about three thousand tickets sold. The vast Beardsworth’s Repository hosted a mass assembly with a thousand ladies in galleries, rows of tables, and a feast of beef, mutton, veal, and ham. Speeches toasted His Majesty and the People, praised ministers, and teased the notion of political “slips.”
A letter from Mr. Cobbett arrives with updates on travel to Holyhead and a planned meeting with General Sir George Cockburn at Bray. O Connell also suggests a public dinner in Cork and a visit to Derrynaue Abbey before Cobbett leaves Ireland.

The Stamford News reports a clergy linked dog theft scandal. Thomas Roberts, son of Rev T Roberts, was charged in St Martin’s for stealing a farmer’s dog. After public exposure, the matter was settled when his father paid eleven sovereigns to recover the dog, and the owner faced expenses from a broken horse after rain.
A deputation of twenty respected residents visited Francis King Eagle to present a silver salver for his public services and charity efforts. The Camberwell fair case hears 19 year old Bert Lambert alias Lambeth convicted of pocket theft and told if guilty again he would be transported. Ten and nine year olds James Hennessy and Jeremiah Donovan found guilty. Hennessy sentenced to seven days solitary confinement and private whipping. Others, including 13 year olds William Jackson and Alfred Campbell, receive similar punishments. A list of transports ranges from life to fourteen and seven years with many juveniles whipped or held in solitary.
The King approves Mr Thomas du Hamel as Consul in Jersey and presents Reverend Hugh M Calman to the church and parish of South Knapdale. The postings follow the vacancy caused by transport of Reverend Duncan Rankine to North Knapdale.
A broad insolvency notice lists Henry George of Bathwick Somersetshire and William Baker of Southampton as bankrupts with surrender dates at the Court of Bankruptcy. Hampshire Telegraph notes post office reforms to ease newspaper transmission. From Oct 1 newspapers stamped may travel by packet boats to colonies free if no cover or covers open at sides. Beyond seven days, full letter postage due. Delivery from colonies via private ships incurs threepence per paper. Enclosures or added writings may incur treble duty. Rules for East Indies Cape New South Wales remain.
