Great Excise Seizure Near Metropolis Triggers Alarm

An extensive Excise seizure near the metropolis alarms distillers and residents. Officers forced entry to a distillery after private tips suggested clandestine operations. A secret pipe routed vast spirit, about 12 000 gallons, into an unrecorded channel. The firm offered 50 000 pounds penalty. bonds posted for duty of about 10 000 pounds. Observers note possible further penalties up to 50 000 pounds.
