Curates in York number 262, with 97 resident in glebe houses and 64 in the parish. Licenses total 226. The whole living income is paid to 78, half to 3, and two have glebe land. Seven Year Old Fires Grandmother Scene in Amiens Street
A seven year old boy set straw under his bedridden grandmother and lit it. A neighbor freed the woman after seizing the boy’s key and rescuing her from smoke and flames. The child raged and screamed as onlookers described him as the ugliest little beast.
