Conviction Upheld in Gambling Appeal at Beccles Sessions
At Beccles Sessions the appeal of William Powell Samuel Tebbutt and Henry Twigg against conviction under the Vagrant Act was dismissed. The trio, known gamblers who played at races and in a tent with fireworks at Apollo Gardens taken as open to the public, were fined and imprisoned for a month in Beccles gaol.
