Nullity of Marriage Declared in Arches Court
In Arches Court Sir Herbert Jenner presided over Hopkins versus Thomas falsely called Hopkins. The suit sought a nullity of marriage on affinity after proving a common ancestor and the wife having married the nephew of her late husband. The court held the marriage null ab initio and refused to award costs, citing the widow’s needs and the age gap.
