James Guest alias James Williams was brought before Mr Minabull on a charge of stealing window glass from Richard Cobbett of No 9 Northumberland Street Strand. He had acted as foreman at Hampton Court Palace and was caught in Red Lion Square with a basket of glass. Convicted as a rogue and vagabond, he was sent to hard labor for two months.
