A maiden lady named Thierry died at Chateau Neuf at 104 years 11 months, her mind intact. Half a century ago some speculated she could be a profitable life annuity, yet fate and aged health prevailed. Also in Liverpool Lord Street a sheep toppled into a shop window, smashing glass. the owner of the animal refuses to pay more than five shillings for damages.
In Hatton Garden and Marylebone districts, a tailor Reuben Bridge living in Allhallows parish was summoned by parish officer Mr. Rudge for refusing to pay five quarters of poor rates amounting to 41 pounds 18 shillings 4 pence. The Lord Mayor pressed him about unemployment and union ties, suggesting lawful support be sought. Bridge claimed he cannot pay due to lack of funds.
A Bristol Mercury item reports a female cat giving birth to four kittens with bizarre anatomy, kept by Mr Harrigan of Pill.
