Wrecks and Shipping News From Yarmouth Harbour
Yarmouth March 5 reports several sailing ships towed in to safety or leaky after mishaps. The Jasper of Sunderland towed in dismasted. Waterloo damaged after contact with Joanna. Bellona from Shields ran onto Corton Sand but was assisted off and proceeding leaky to Harwich. The Lady Jane assisted with wind upset and anchor loss. The Melona from Sunderland to London went ashore on Corton Sand, rescued and brought in very leaky. The Woolsington from Newcastle to London entered Bridlington. The Nymphe wrecked near Jemel to Dundee. crew saved. Numerous vessels stranded or damaged across February as storms persist.

Dreadful fire accident harms young fire boy
A fire boy, son of a city mechanic named Michael Newman, suffered severe burns after his four year old body left his father's lap while the father slept. The mother fainted upon return. The incident occurred at No 1 Fetherstone court City-road. The child’s recovery is not expected. Numerous accidents followed a tempest with great damage to warehouses and dwellings in the City. A chimney stack at Roddlane Fenchurch-street collapsed on a dressing-room below. River damage rose as vessels broke from moorings, Thames police aided several adrift ships to prevent further peril.
