In Middlesex Court of Common Pleas a special jury trial addressed whether M Vincent Ta lochona known as Parc Elisée committed an act of bankruptcy before March 29 1811. The second jury found no act of bankruptcy occurred prior to the stated date.
In London before Lord Abinger a jury found for the plaintiff, awarding 510 damages for damage to a gig and horse after the defendant's servant allegedly drove negligently. The clash arose when the plaintiff's two sons approached town and their gig struck the Clap ton coach, breaking the shaft and causing further damage. The trial extended over the day with conflicting witness accounts.
Benjamin Holloway aged 38 dressed as a butcher was found guilty of assaulting his wife Sarah after a history of ill treatment since their marriage. The Chairman condemned the brutal conduct and sentenced him to six months in prison and to find good sureties to keep the peace for a year. Seventy prisoners were discharged as the Westminster session ended.
A serious Hyde Park accident near the Magazine on a horse purchase day left H Valentine of Bexley College with severe brain concussion. He fell after the horse shied away from a water cart spout, striking his head on a rail post as bystanders aided his return home in a carriage offered by Mrs Houseman of Harley Street.
A well dressed man and a woman, posing as various aliases, faced Mr Conant and others amid a string of fraud allegations. The pair allegedly obtained money from Colonel Frederick and Lord Portarlington by false pretenses, stole items, and harassed officials. The bench imposed fines or short terms, and the woman was held on a threatening charge. details include repeated begging-letter offenses and a later case involving a waste-paper sale tied to Pinnock. Elizabeth Avery, seven, accused of taking a valuable silver table spoon from John Miles, MP for Bristol. Witnesses including dealer Mr. Tresman and a Hoxton waste paper buyer corroborate purchases, while a policeman found the material at Webber Row.
An inquest at the Black Horse Brixton before Mr Carter on Thomas Porter aged 74 found natural death due to rupture of a blood vessel after decomposition hindered by late discovery. A second inquest at the Cape of Good Hope Limehouse on Mary Driscoll 40 and her infant concluded natural death after postmortem operation failed to save mother and child.
