House of Lords June 15 political unions and reforms debate
The Lords discuss Political Unions facing Grey and Londonderry critique, with references to The People’s Charter and elections. Bills on the County Assize, Exchequer, and Scotland Reform occupy the session as Lords press for legal and constitutional measures amid Ireland and education concerns.
Westminster dinner plan delays illumination at public meeting
At a meeting of stewards held last night at the Crown and Anchor Tavern for the Westminster dinner on the 27th instant to celebrate Sir Francis Burdett and the cause of pure representation, it was resolved to defer general illumination until after the Bills pass. A deputation was appointed to confer with the Lord Mayor about the subject. Hypropuosia. Yesterday an inquest at the London Hospital on Thomas Collison, four, son of a Bromley green-grocer, who died of hydrophobia after a dog bite and delayed treatment. Verdict hydrophobia. Death by own action at The Golden Cross. Mr. M Isaac, surgeon, ended his life with oxalic acid. No cause given. A rumour among West India planters claims Lord Belmore dissolved the Jamaica House of Assembly and will quit the island, but the report is not credited.
