Private George Cochran of the 60th Regiment pleaded guilty to firing a loaded rifle at Sergeant Daniel Davern in Floriana barracks. Cochran was hanged after a rapid defense and prayer with Chaplain Mesurier. Davern died June 25 after severe wounds.
