Vice-Chancellor dissolves injunction against Ro therhithe watermen at Prince's stairs

Five witnesses testified for forty to sixty years of stairs use, while plaintiff showed private property rights. Winchester Assizes Close After Libel and Wages Suit

Fire at Burn of Rathven Wool Mill Incendiary Attempt
A carding wool mill owned by Alexander Ib at Burn of Rathven was broken into on a Saturday night or Sunday. A tar barrel was placed under the machinery and ignited but the fire was limited to about half the equipment. Hoops and a piece of the barrel remained unconsumed. A similar attack occurred about a year and a half earlier without major damage. The Procurator-Fiscal led an investigation but no clue was found due to the secluded location. Also noted was the Moray Frith sturgeon catch at Findhorn, eight feet six inches long, three feet in circumference, weighing 3 pounds. The fish was stuffed and sent to Inverness Museum.
