Repeal of the Union Meeting in Griffin for Irish home rule

A large crowd met at the Griffin in Church Street to petition for repeal of the legislative Union between England and Ireland. Speakers denounced the Union as unjust, urged a domestic Irish legislature, and pressed England to join in the demand, with Daniel O'Connell praised for leadership. A formal petition for Repeal was adopted and the gathering adjourned to Monday night.

Regeneration plea from Sheffield memorial to Robert Owen

A letter from the Sheffield Regeneration Society to Robert Owen condemns his eight hour shift proposal and calls for union action on free trade and labour. It argues that restricting labour harms workers, questions how to enforce higher prices for goods, and urges justice as the true power to curb trades unions. The memorial critiques Owen as a benevolent yet mistaken reformer.
